Reading Notes,Mahabharata, Last Half

A good story line could be similar to the children that were raised in the woods and now face seemingly perils trials yet they use their abilities gracefully to overcome these dangers. Perhaps I could exaggerate their abilities to something un expected. Tying them back to the children of Rama or some other god like abilities.

I could also flip this into another discussion say of the young men being dropped into a large city that they were raised in. I could refer to business tycoons as wild animals or giants maybe Asuras, and Rakshasas.

Shala tree might be a huge building resembling New York City high-rise and Hidimba could resemble some rich tycoon.

Interesting that the Rakshasa have more ability at the twilights. I have heard this same said of dragons. I wonder if there is a correlation?

What is a great story without a super strong hero fighting boastful arrogant bad guy? The imagery is great with this brutal hero that seems to handle his foe with ease. I picture the brother anxious to help and the other almost joking around says, “Nah I got him, but you can watch” then the other brother says stop playing with him, you are making me nervous, you know they get stronger at day break.
I also like the idea of the beautiful serpent woman choosing the strong hero in a love at first sight after being sent there to kill him. It would appear that trying to kill him would not have turned out well for her.

William Jon Mahabharata Arjun and Krishna
Slightly cropped for compatibility

When he finds out he was not of a lowly birth is a great feeling to give the reader. We always love to hear a story about an underdog that gets a huge boost all of a sudden.

I also love it when out of no place, the gods above remind us that they care enough to be involved in human affairs. Also, that they are able to see into the future. What mystic could resist?

Krishna demands that no one eat under pain of death, yet the god of the dead maybe at the doorstep?

I love it when heroes and villains have only one small weakness and yet it is capitalized on by the circumstances of some accidental mistake. Krishna’s foot and Achille’s heel?
